Offline Browsing

Offline web browsing is a technique that allows you to view pages stored in your cache without the need to go online. This is particularly useful for people using dial-up connections as it saves them money on their phone bill, if they are charged for making local calls.

Browsers can be used to view the contents of the local cache. However, there are also specially designed software packages that can be configured to download an entire web site for you to read off line. It is possible to collect all the images and multimedia files using this type of package - files that might not be cached by your browser.

Note that Internet Explorer Version 7 does not support offline browsing.
